Introduction
I am a member of the Green Party, and a former New Haven City Alderman. I believe that all Greens should be Vegans and all Vegans should be Greens. I am also a supporter of the Occupy movement and its encampment in New Haven.
Are you vegan primarily for health, moral reasons, or both?
My original reasons have to do with health but the moral and environmental reasons are also extremely compelling. In the photo, that's me, second from the right, holding up one side of the Fight the (Utilities) Hike banner. The speaker, on the far right, advocating utility reform, is the former Attorney General, Dick Blumenthal.

"I last ate meat 37 years ago on April 15,1975. I know the exact date because it was, coincidentaly,a famous day in US history (Guess what?). The news was filling the air ways. It was the last day of our 7000mile hitchhicking trip to Mexico&Guatamala"
