Climbing at Vertical Endeavors, Vegan Milkshakes at The Bad Waitress!

One of the largest indoor climbing facilities in the country is right here in Minneapolis - Vertical Endeavors. Neat! Let's go climbing there!

Never climbed before? Good. No experience is necessary. If it's your first time at Vertical Endeavors you will have to sign a waiver and take a very short orientation course before you can climb. However, this never takes more than 15 minutes. If this ain't your first time, you already know what you're doing...

Unless you're belay certified (and if you don't know what that means, you're not) you'll have to stick to the runs with auto-belays. However, there are over two dozen auto-belays throughout the facility - so you're not gonna get bored!

Admission is $15, and an equipment rental (consisting of shoes, a harness, and a chalk bag) will cost you $12. (Neat Tip: Peruse the CityPages for "Buy 1, Get 1" admission coupons. They have one almost every week.) Of course, if you have your own gear (or VE pass) you're already good to go...

We'll meet at 7:00pm in the lobby. Those who need to take the short orientation can do so as a group and catch up with the rest of us afterward.

Afterward, we'll run across the street and grab some food and vegan milkshakes at The Bad Waitress. Obviously, you are encouraged to wear your vegan swag.

Any other questions? Ask away.

Great meetup! We'll have to do this one again sometime! I really enjoyed meeting everyone. Loved learning to climb and the lively conversation (and milkshake) afterward!

I'm just sending out a reminder for tonight. If you've never been to VE before, the first thing they'll do is set you up on a computer in the lobby so you can read their conditions of entry and sign a waiver. It'll only take 5 minutes. Then, as a group, you'll take a quick tour of the gym. We can all meet up as a group after that.

I'll be wearing a Twin Cities Marathon shirt. I'm looking forward to it!

Black ice took me down twice while I rode my bike last night & I got pretty banged up. I'm sad that I have to take a raincheck on climbing :-( Have fun all!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
