Book Discussion: Making A Killing

On Sunday, January 12th We will be meeting at Tao Organic Café in the Lowry Park Area of South Minneapolis; on the corner of 22nd and Hennepin Ave.  from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. to discuss Bob Torres's 2007 book "Making a Killing:  The Political Economy of Animal Rights."  He is also the co-author of "Vegan Freak: Being Vegan in Non-Vegan World" with his wife Jenna Torres.

"Combining nuts-and-bolts Marxist political economy, a pluralistic anarchist critique, as well as searing assessment of the animal rights movement, Bob Torres challenges conventional anti-capitalistic thinking and convincingly advocates for the abolition of animals in industry-and on the dinner plates."~Found on the back of "Making a Killing" by Bob Torres

Is it okay if I come late? I just found out that I need to go to a funeral, so may not make it at all or may be late.

Hey! If we don't finish the book, is it still alright if we attend? I just saw this event and am interested but don't know if I can manage a book in 4ish days…Thanks :)

So sorry I had to cancel. My fiance and I recently decided to transfer to a different apartment, and the new lease starts January 13. I.E. my entire weekend will be packing :(

I assume we purchase this ahead of time?
How often does the group typically meet?

Yes, the idea is that you come to the "table" already having finished reading the selected literature. We try to set up a book discussion every month.
