Film Screening & Discussion: Diet for a New America

In 1987, John Robbins published Diet for a New America, one of the first bestselling books to discuss the environmental repercussions of our food choices, the ethics of eating animals, and the dangers of factory farms. Renowned author Colman McCarthy had this to say of Robbins’s work: “Robbins has written a book that is the pioneering match of Aldo Leopold’s Sand County Almanac, John Rawls’ A Theory of Justice, and Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring.”

No time to read the book? Then please join the Animal Rights Coalition’s showing of the film Diet for a New America at Minnehaha Free Space. There will be a short introduction before the film starts, as well as important discussions afterwards.

A small donation to help cover the costs of running this meetup group is welcome and appreciated, though no one will be turned away due to inability to donate.

So nice to spend the evening with compassionate people. And the film Diet for a New America is as, or more pertinent today as it was 30 yrs ago. Again 94% of people believe farm animals shouldn't suffer.. so it's great that films like this are being shown to help raise awareness. Thanks.
