A Vegan Potluck: Just Because It's Fun!

  • March 29 · 4:00 PM
  • Royal Oaks Apartment Clubhouse

This is an open event for anyone who wants to eat great vegan food in good company. Please bring a main entree and/or dessert to share with everyone OR bring a donation to help cover the room rental fee of $65. If you bring food, please provide the recipe, so those with food allergies can still have fun, too.

The party room is newly renovated, but not all the furniture is there. So, if you have a folding chair, feel free to bring it! Some chairs will be provided, but there may not be enough for everyone to sit on.

***With your RSVP, please say what you plan to bring so we can have as much variety as possible. ***

Also, please remember to bring your own place setting: plate/bowl, silverware, etc. This will be a green event! :)

Did you get enough to cover the cost of the room?

Hi Theresa. I got about 2/3 back-which I am absolutely thrilled about. I'm so happy that people donated :)

Thanks Arun. I listened to the video and I printed off a recipe.

Thanks Theresa! I had to add some stuff to the leftover - it was good after that!
Here is the link, a good Indian chef on YouTube and his recipe is similar to mine. There are 100 ways to make the same dish. http://youtu.be/pDWfDUi108U

Arun, your food wasn't too hot. It was very good. All of the food was good. Is there a way we can share the recipes?

Alright, I need to take a vote, which one would you prefer:
    1. Nutless Strawberry Chocolate pie (raw with a base of avocado with raw cacoa and fresh strawberries) or
    2. Chocolate Pie (using silken tofu and melted semi-sweet chocolate chips).

Okay, I am not sure how hot my food is for others but I will try my mild version. It's going to be Indian style chickpeas masala. Someone suggested that I should bring rice with that, so I will do that.

Since we are low on salads, I will also bring a couscous salad.

Alright everyone-I completely forgot to mention parking- there is very little parking in the main lot. Likely 2-3 spots. BUT-there is a lot right next to the main parking lot that can accommodate 5-7 cars. You can also park on the road next to the clubhouse-people do it all the time for events. List of Food Items:
    Mac+Cheese
    Sloppy Joes
    Noodle Salad
    Rice Crispy Chocolate Bars
    Baked Beans
Cashew and Garlic Pasta (my recently named dish)
    Chocolate Pie
    Bean Medley
    Strawberry Chocolate Pie (who's excited?!?!?!?)
Hummus, Guac, and Chips-if Laura chooses)

I can bring a dish, I don't know what yet...I'm thinking either fresh hummus, guac and chips or a nice hotdish.

    March 28

    • Katie LaRoche

hi Laura. The hummus, guac, and chips might be a nice contrast with the rest of the items :)
