Greg - you are a hoot, my friend. ?I hope more people show up and share in your great sense of humor :0)

If we are able to "re-schedule" it, I did schedule a dinner at Veggie Heaven for this coming Thursday, the 24th, before the group expired. ?I know that's nothing new but perhaps we can use the dinner as a re-grouping and a forum to discuss some of the ideas you have below (I personally like the pin the tail on the dove hunter the best ;0) and to come up with ideas for the next few months.

I'm glad we're back! ?Woo-hoo!!!

i never intended to let the group die on the vine. i arranged for a free month and they gave me the $35 new member promotion fee for the next 6 months, that gives us 7 months for $35. so, who wants to stick around? are you going to join us for meals? if not, what's the point?
now that i am back in the hot seat, i will finish up the core list. i see no point in choking the group. at worst we can just 'can' everyone, and if they care enough, they can rejoin, unless you all you really hate the group's name....but such an act is a bit too vicious for a pacifist...
is the group's name a thorn in the side? which we can change, and as for 150 couch potatoes, if they can ignore us, we can ignore them.
i have payed this group's fees for three years because, as it stood, with such a small turn out, i thought having to pay a few bucks more for the company might piss off the members and cause them to migrate. well, if we get 5 folks a meal, average, 2 bucks each, 2 times a month = $20, so, i think give and take, that'll do it. 2 bucks, no sweat. and if i have to rot in hell for mentioning money, well, when there, i will at least in the company of our groups skinflints.
thoughts?
on group name? venues? events?
we need ideas for the general group, and those for the core group. bowling for vegan Buffalo wings? pin the tail on the dove hunter? how about planning an event for shooting bear hunter's cars with red paint balls and painting 'who's going to protect us from forest fires now?'. either that, or a simple sit down dinner and pancake breakfast twice a month(one each plus whatever spontaneity bites us on the heels. 5$ dollar movies at the theater down the block from veggie heaven? for the cost of a regular movie, you get a VH dessert and a movie. etc. then there are core group ideas;
see, say, for example, we wanted an outing where we tried to see how many members we could fit into one of those huge bed-set sized rental front load driers, obviously that would be a core group event, we'd never fit 20 in there, not that 20 ever would show up for that or any other events. and how bout you 'non' core' inclined folks? feeling left out and pissed off? i wonder why? the group has been here for 3 years, where have ye all been? but fear not, feeling left out? then join us, our intention is for a close knit group of friends to form; that's something many of us never had, or would like to have again. and harder than imaginable to atain when older, unless you win the lottery, and then, the only new friends you get are the IRS. that aside, what's to lose but some unwanted privacy and loneliness.
