Effective Animal Activism workshop by Erica Meier

Free presentation before the Loving Hut buffet Sat, Dec 14 at 11am, buffet starts at noon

She's not only executive director of Compassion Over Killing and member of the Animal Rights Hall of Fame, Erica Meier is also an alum of Clark University.

Erica will be joining VegWorcester on Saturday, December 14 at 11am, before Loving Hut's monthly all-you-can-eat vegan buffet. She'll be reflecting on a year of national advocacy for farmed animals and discussing how you can become a better activist for animals.

This year under Meier's leadership, Compassion Over Killing made major headlines after releasing an undercover investigation into cruelty towards young calves at a Colorado farm as well as an investigation into cruelty at a turkey breeding facility in MN. Here in ye olde Massachusetts, COK supported H.1456 — “An Act to Prevent Farm Animal Cruelty”. Nationally, her group has been campaigning to get Subway to offer more vegetarian options. In April, while we were all getting excited for Worcester VegFest, COK organized US VegWeek, a wildly successful grassroots campaign to promote veg eating, with 150 events in 33 states and thousands of people pledging to try vegetarian eating for the week.

So come hear from Erica at Loving Hut and definitely stick around for a tasty vegan lunch afterwards.

When: Sat, Dec 14 at 11am, buffet starts at noon
