I have always had rescue cats. Currently I have one 12 year calico who shares my life.
I moved to the Dallas area 6 months ago from Orlando Fl. I've gone to Vegan festivals and seminars and wonder where are the vegan support groups and activities in Texas. I work in the computer software testing field and I have no kids except the 4-legged kind. I have books and DVDs on all kinds of topics related to going vegetarian and understanding the cruelty of factory farming, etc.
Well, I'm having trouble going totally vegan because I just don't know what else to eat besides salads, fruit, and vegetables. That's where I need to learn how to find and make interesting meals and eat out at places that offer vegan foods. So, currently I've been vegetarian for 1 1/2 years, but need to get off the cheese and yogurt and find equivalent substitutes.
Having mercy on all animals by not eating any animal products, but still getting enough protein in my diet to live a healthy lifestyle. I'm not allowed to eat seeds and nuts, unless they are totally butters that can be digested by an impaired gastrointestinal system.
Hi. I'm looking to learn a lot more about how to live vegan and cruelty-free, and make new friends as well!
