May I suggest that you act as the ride coordinator since you are so graciously offering a ride?   That way, anyone from Dallas who wants to go to this very interesting presentation and film, may just contact you directly so you may agree on arrangments.

Does that sound okay?    No need to make Patrick or me the middle man as that would just impede your arrangement.

Here is a link with direction to TCU and on the left side of the page, you will see a link to TCU campus map to show you were the Sid Richardson building is.

I am so glad you offered to give others a ride to TCU on Thursday afternoon.   Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there.

Patrick,

I was thinking of going to this seminar and would be willing to take a few people with me (I can take 3 passengers). I haven't been involved with VegNod in the past, but have been trying to follow a vegetarian lifestyle for the past 6 months. Let me know if anyone is interested in hitching a ride. Would love to meet some fellow Veggies.

Subject: [vegetarian-386] John Pippin's Seminar
Date: Sun, 24 Feb[masked]:39:24 -0500

Dr. John Pippin is presenting a seminar on food and the environment this Thursday, 2/28 at TCU at 7pm. It's supposed to be in the "life-changing" category as far as content is concerned. Dr. Pippin's schedule is full, so this will be his last speech in the Metroplex for some time. I would love to go see it myself, but by the time I got out of work and made it to Ft. Worth the lecture would be finished. I promised Margaret Morin that I would write a post on our group asking if anybody was interested in setting up a car pool from Dallas to the event. I guess there are a few VNOD members who are interested in going but aren't able to drive to Ft. Worth themselves. You can contact me via e-mail if you are able to do this, and I will get you connected with Margaret and the carpoolees interested in carpooling.

Here is the event information from one of VNOD's e-mails:
Vegetarian Network of Dallas Presents

Food and the Environment:  The R eal Inconvenient Truth

  Presented by:  John J. Pippin, M.D., F.A.C.C.

When: Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 7 PM.   Admission is Free!
Where: Texas Christian University , 2800 S. University Dr , Ft Worth, Sid Richardson Lecture Hall 2

What:  John Pippin, M.D. will lead a lively discussion on how to live healthier and longer, while saving the planet from catastrophic climate change and showing compassion to animals.   "We are eating ourselves ? and our planet ? to death," says Dr. Pippin.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn the truth about how poor food choices harm our own health and the health of the planet and what we can do about it.  This is a "must hear" presentation for those interested in health, the environment, and/or animals.

Dr. Pippin is Senior Medical and Research Advisor for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, founder of the North Texas Animal Rights Network, and a scientific advocate of the vegan diet.  He taught medicine at Harvard Medical School and is the former Director of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cooper Clinic.
