Attention Vegan 101 Group! Exciting news! Just Mayo (vegan) launched in August and is available at a lot of Whole Foods in the Northwest Region. I'm working on trying to get it here in DFW and they may also begin using it here for prepared foods in their deli section. If you would like to help make it available in DFW, please see the details and advice about contacting Whole Foods so we can get Just Mayo! Thank you for your help! smile

Want to make a difference in animals lives TODAY? Here's one small thing you can do: Walk into the deli section of your local Whole Foods and ask about Just Mayo. Just Mayo is a sustainable, egg-free mayo and Whole Foods is close to making the switch from egg-based mayo in their prepared foods to Just Mayo! This would make a huge dent in the egg industry since 1/3 of all eggs go into mayonnaise and other dressings, and 99% of all eggs come from battery cage facilities.

Just Mayo is from Hampton Creek, a food company on a mission to make food healthier, by taking eggs out of the food equation. Just Mayo is vegan, however, we get more chickens out of cages if Whole Foods thinks of this as "the mayo option" not "another vegan option." We are trying to replace Hellman's not Veganaise. We make the biggest impact on the food system and chicken's lives if we focus on the sustainability of Just Mayo, how much better it is for our cholesterol and the environment (greenhouse gas emissions, wasted water in egg production, etc.). So please focus on these benefits and don't mention the word 'vegan' to Whole Foods when you ask about Just Mayo!
