Vegan Pizza Day Celebration @ Masa - 7PM SEATING

Vegan Drinks is proud to announce that we will be celebrating vegan pizza day at Masa of Echo Park! On January 29, cities all over the country will be celebrating the 1st annual vegan pizza day, sponsored by and Teese vegan cheese. Masa just happens to serve a vegan deep dish pizza with Teese that is to die for! They also serve loads of other vegan items as well as potent and delicious vegan Firestone beers.

Your $5.00 refundable deposit (plus a non-refundable $0.32 transaction fee) with your RSVP reserves you a spot at a table. Upon arrival, you must check in with the event host (either Lex or Jason) and we will return your $5.00. You’ll then pick a table and order for whatever food and drinks you like. We recommend sharing a large vegan deep dish pizza with the friends you bring or the new friends you’re going to make!

Masa is a busy restaurant on Saturdays and they are making a good amount of space available for us to celebrate. Accordingly, we are having 2 seatings from 5-7 and from 7-9. Make sure you are RSVPing for the one you want to attend. You’ll need to clear out by the end of your seating. Make sure to arrive on time if you’re going to order the deep dish pizza, because it requires 50 minutes in the oven!

If you cancel prior to Thursday, January 27, you will receive a $5.00 refund. After that, if you need to cancel, you’ll need to find someone to replace you, and also contact us to coordinate. Please visit:

Here is a preliminary list of menu items provided to us by Masa that can be made vegan. We have tasted some and they are delicious! I have a suggestion. I read on one of quarrygirl's blogs that across the street from Masa is a small bar called El Prado Bar. The address is 1805 W Sunset Blvd. When the 7:00pm meetup is over at 9:00pm, perhaps some people might want to head across the street and have some drinks at El Prado. Or if anyone for the 7:00pm seating at Masa is early, they could get some drinks beforehand at El Prado. Here is their website:

Tony, thanks for getting all this info. Masa will actually be putting out a special menu for our event! Everyone, please tell Masa that you'd like to see this menu as a permanent fixture at the restaurant!

FYI, if anyone is planning on ordering Masa's deep dish pizza, you can call them at[masked] and pre-order about 20-30 minutes before arriving, because it takes 50 minutes for the deep dish pizza to be made. Make sure to tell them you want the vegan cheese, and no butter or parm.
