Hi my name is Don. I am 60 years old and became an enthusiastic, joyful Vegan on 14 Sept 2012.
How did you hear about the Oahu Vegan Meetup?
I heard about the Oahu Vegan Meetup at the Imagine a Vegan World Support Group.
How veg are you? Vegan? Vegetarian? Flexitarian? Not at all?
Vegan for life.
How veg do you want to be and why?
I was in the military 30 years and a lifelong hunter. I no longer want to contribute to suffering and violence where I have the power to do so....peace begins with my plate. Veganism reflects my values of compassion and kindness. It is about more than just food - it is about reverence for life. I feel liberated!
What do you want out of this group?
I want the support of other Vegans in this non-vegan world.
What kind of events would you like to attend? Where? When?
Vegan support groups, lectures (nutrition, cooking, animal rights, etc), eating out and activism.
