A book I read over 30 years ago called "Eating May Be Hazardous to Your Health." It talked about the dangers of the "Standard American Diet" (SAD) and made a case for a plant-based diet. It resonated with me and I completely changed my diet.
Hard to choose, but sweet potatoes and kale are at the top of my list.

A vegetarian (mostly) for over 30 years, though recently have become vegan and have been exploring "raw foods"- currently, most of my diet is raw. I'm a long-time advocate of a plant-based diet, mostly for health, but also for environmental reasons.
