Welcome!

This meetup group is for those who practice kindness and non-violence toward all animals and would like to see a moral paradigm shift, whereby animals are no longer regarded as resources to be owned and used. As vegans we choose not to commission the exploitation of animals when it comes to our choices for food, clothing and entertainment.

You are encouraged to join if you are not yet vegan but are interested in becoming vegan. Whether you're the sort that takes the immediate plunge and never looks back, or finds yourself easing into it - you will find the group friendly and eager to support you and provide resources! We do ask that if you're not currently interested in moving down the vegan path, please don't apply, rather consider joining The Tucson Vegan and Vegetarian Meetup.

For those interested in activism, we will practice outreach in our community with creative non-aggressive vegan education. This includes friendly leafleting with abolitionist vegan materials, promoting companion animal adoption and spay/neuter programs, encouraging eateries to include vegan dishes on their menus, screening movies, and other creative approaches that advocate for veganism as a moral baseline (as opposed to promoting so called "humane" animal products).

Vegan Tucson will also have meetups including dining, nightlife, outdoor activities, and field trips, providing the opportunity to take a timeout from a world of systemic animal use and find an oasis where you can socialize exclusively with others who view our world through the same lens you do.

In addition to supporting each other and advocating for veganism, many of us are also interested environmental, nutritional and human rights issues.
