I love working from home but miss being with other people sometimes. I'm self motivated to work, but it's nice to sit to someone else being productive. Plus, I want to just leave my house every once in a while.
Being an entrepreneur means I can work from home. The good: I don't have to change out of my pajama, no commute, and I can start and end my day whenever I want. The bad? Working from home can be a little lonely and means dealing with a new set of distractions - TV, chores needing to be done, and my oh-so-comfy bed calling me to take a nap...or two. It'll do me good to get out of the house, meet some new people, and get some work done.
Co-working, "a style of work that involves a shared working environment, sometimes an office, yet independent activity"; that would be perfect! However, to my surprise, there aren't that many co-working spaces in Vegas. There's /usr/lib in Downtown. And there's the Vegas Jelly that meets weekly at the Beat on Thursdays at 7pm. As much as I like Downtown and love how it's redefining itself, I like a little variety too.
So I figured why not create a mobile co-working space that meets together bi-weekly (and eventually weekly) at different places around town. Why not help out the local businesses while we're at it? Get some work done? Want to meet new people? Then bring your laptop (or whatever it is that you're working on) and come co-work with us!
**Disclaimer: this is not a networking group. There are plenty of other Meetup groups that focuses on just that. We are here to work, get stuff done, and get it done while meeting other individuals who's primary focus is to also get stuff done. Much like you would in a corporate, 9-to-5 job, except without the boss.
