What is Burning Man?

Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Burning Man is also an ever-expanding year-round culture based on the ten principles.

2012 Theme: Fertility 2.0

Black Rock City is a kind of Petri dish. Theme camps cling in fertile clusters to its latticework of streets, artworks tumble out of it, like pollen on the air. These nodes of interaction mutate, grow and reproduce their kind. Burning Man communities have now escaped this capsule world: our culture in a Petri dish has effloresced - it spreads across five continents. This year's art theme contemplates the tendency of any being or living system to create abundant life.

Find out more in Las Vegas

It's not too late to go to Burning Man. Tickets are popping up at face value and one of the best places to find them is with your local community. Each Monday 6-9pm at The Arts Factory (101 East Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV) Burners gather for a few drinks and talk all things Burning Man. Its a great place for newbies to meet and find out more about Burning Man.

Theme Camps, Art, Events and More

Several theme camps, art and events at Burning Man are Vegas based.

There is a Divine Purpose to every tragedy. I hope to see my fellow burner again. I had ALL MY STUFF in his Truck: my ticket and food & all my GEAR ~ (bike, sun oven, clothes, goggles, hats, lights IN MY DRIVER'S TRUCK. We agreed to meet in Gatesville Texas to go in early, but he never showed up !! I don't know why.??? I hope is O.K. Safely driving there with all my stuff - on his own
I just know that I am going anyway & all the details will have to work themselves out no matter what. So, I am offering Rideshares to & from BM in a 26 ft Motor Home, leaving early on the 26th. Synchronistically, I was born on the 26th too.
Also, I am offering Vacation time in a nice Home (adjacent to The Seven Sacred Pools in Hana Maui) in exchange for some Gas money and/or a Ticket. Please call Leah [masked]
