Vegas Veg plans to march in the Henderson Heritage Parade!
Many large cities have Veggie Pride Parades this time of year. The Vegas valley isn't quite there yet but we can still march in other parades to show our veggie pride!
This parade is to celebrate Henderson's 60 years as a city. It's free for us to attend (most parades have entry fees) and so it's a great opportunity for us to help spread the word about vegetarian and vegan eating for the benefit of animals, the environment, and human health.
A few Vegas Veg members will hold Vegas Veg banners and some members will hand out vegan cookies to the crowd. The rest of us will march and smile and wave. Lots of smiles!
PLEASE WEAR BLUE
If you want to "dress up" then make it veggie-themed. That means wear a broccoli hat or a kale tail. But you don't have to dress up. Just wear blue. The Vegas Veg color is BLUE. If you want to wear a Vegas Veg shirt, you can buy one online here: http://www.vegasveg.com/store.html
KIDS can come in strollers, wagons, bikes, scooters, mini electric cars, or they can walk just like the adults... They should wear blue too. You can decorate their "vehicles" in a veggie theme (vegetables) if you want. After the parade, Henderson has planned for a carnival nearby that you may want to take your kids to.
You can bring dogs if they are well behaved and not afraid of crowds. They must stay leashed the entire time. If you want to dress them up, they should wear blue.
Even though we may have a small number of attendees for this event, we are going to go ahead and do it. We have all these cookies to give out and they can't go to waste!
