Vegetarian for nearly 4 years, interested in becoming vegan one day, but I don't do well with soy and I require quite a bit of protein :(
I've explored vegetarianism several times. As a child and college student I regularly tested my will power by giving up certain foods including ice cream and chocolate, in college I decided to go without meat and it lasted 4 months. Maybe a year and a half to two years later I studied abroad in India for 5 months and decided I shouldn't eat sketchy meat over there. However, one of my first meals back in the states was chicken :( . Two years later I was eating some pasta with chicken in it and was randomly and overwhelmingly repulsed by it. It was two days later I became a vegetarian and haven't looked back (except a few times in my dreams ha-ha). I realized if I couldn't kill an animal myself, I shouldn't eat it. It's for environmental reasons, humanitarian, spiritual, and many more.
Many (will come back)
A friend :)
