National rally: stop live exports from Ireland

  • Apr 24, 2013 · 12:00 PM
  • Department of Agriculture

***The planned lunch in Cornucopia has been cancelled. The ARAN and CIWF rally is going ahead.***

As many of you will be aware, Ireland has recently resumed exporting live cattle to the Middle East. The journey takes 10 days.

ARAN (Animal Rights Action Network) and CIWF (Compassion in World Farming) are holding a national rally tomorrow.

Representatives of the Vegetarian Society of Ireland will be in attendance.

"The rally ends at 2pm, after which we will head to Cornucopia for lunch. You are most welcome to join us either at the rally or for lunch in Cornucopia, or both. I expect we will have left Cornucopia by 4pm."

The rally starts at noon. I expect to be there from 11:45 but won't make the meal afterwards.
