Dinner at Seomra Spraoi, Wednesday 19th of June

Hi vegiephiles, this Wednesday we’ll be supporting Seomra Spraoi as patrons of their weekly Vegan café. It has a suggested donation of 7 euros (more or less, based on what you can afford) and I hear their food is always good! Seomra also has a BYOB policy, so do bring some drinks and we’ll hang out after the meal rather than going to a pub.

We’ll be meeting at the spire at 7pm and walking over together as it can be slightly tricky to find. Latecomers are of course welcome to join, but they’ll have to consult the map http://seomraspraoi.org/copy_of_contact-us

Seomra Spraoi is an autonomous social center in Dublin, It is run by a non-hierarchical, anti-capitalist collective. So whether you’re in the market for a new anti-capitalist collective, or if you just have problems with hierarchies, do swing by for the craic!

It was very tasty indeed! Except for the tapenade if you weren't a fan of olives ;)

Hi in 2012 Seomra Spraoi stopped calling its cafe vegan after it was discovered it had been using the title "vegan" erroneously for some years. Vegan Ireland released a statement explaining their understanding of this.

hope the meet up goes well for you
probably more appropriate not to promote their cafe as vegan though!

Huh that's strange. I know a few vegans who have endorsed it but you're right, it's just called "cafe night" with the first words in the description being "Tasty & vegan food served". I suppose the grammar's a little ambiguous. I assumed it meant the food is both tasty and vegan. It could also mean they serve both tasty food and vegan food. Anyway, if you don't want to take your chances of having disgusting vegan food, just eat before. Personally I'm mostly going to hang out and have a few beers - I hear it's a cool venue.
