Super Bowling Sunday II with Pizza Potluck

It's Super Bowling Sunday II.

Will the victors of Super Bowling Sunday I repeat their performance at this year's event, or will an upstart take away the crown? Only those who bowl will know! So gear up, bring your favorite vegan pizza (takeout, frozen, homemade) and get ready for some great feats of athleticism.

The fee is $9/person for two games and shoes. The third game is $3.

Also, Olivette Lanes offers a snack bar that sells beverages, fries and a few other vegan items.

I forgot to mention the other important aspect of the meetup - the pizza! Many thanks to everyone for putting forth the effort to bring truly creative and tasty pizzas.

The results of Super Bowling Sunday II are in. The bowler with the highest score after two games was Lisa Brown at 270. She was followed by Kyle Jackson who bowled 261 after two games, but who logged the highest one game score of 148, beating Lisa Brown's high of 147 by one point! Stephen placed third at 216 and Michelle Arthington also made it into the rarified 200 group with a two-game score of 201. Jackie, Jacci, and Carolyn made it into the mid-100's, and Shelly, Miles and Julia bowled with such gusto that scorekeeping was secondary to their superior style. Looking forward to re-matches in 2015.

Hey Julia, I rsvp'ed on both facebook and meetup. My son will not be going-just me.

Charles - I will check with the bowling alley. However, most bowling shoes I looked up online were described this way:
    Soft, durable man-made upper
Lace to toe upper pattern for a custom fit
Fully fabric-lined with padded tongue and collar
Non-marking rubber outsole with defined horseshoe heel
Extra long S8 microfiber slide soles on both shoes So leather may not be a factor any more with current bowling shoes.

Julia, do they have an option for people who don't want to wear leather shoes? I've never seen a bowling shoe that isn't leather. I've bowled in socks before, but some places don't want you to do that.

Please try to RSVP by Saturday am, because if we exceed 8 bowlers, then I will need to request additional lanes. Thanks!

Last year I brought pizza from Schlafly's but may go with Whole Foods this year for comparison. Toppings will be olive, mushroom, and green pepper.

I might bring my son also. I will let you know beforehand.

I changed the start time to 12:15 because a large group has rented out the entire bowling alley from 2:30 onward. Our lanes will be available at 12:30, so if we arrive at 12:15, then we'll have enough time to rent shoes, pay the lane fees, and be ready to bowl at 12:30.
