French Brunch to mark St. Louis at 250

  • Feb 16, 2014 · 11:00 AM
  • Annie Moons Bakery

In February 1764, a French expedition from New Orleans set down roots at the highest point south of where the Missouri River enters the Mississippi. To mark the 250 years since French settlement, let's gather at Annie Moons for a French brunch with high hopes that the next 250 years will bring about a more compassionate, non-violent society.

The brunch will feature an all-you-can eat buffet of french toast, pomme frites, a lentil dish (tbd), salads, breads, and beverages. Detailed menu to be announced soon.

Note: When you RSVP you will be prompted to pay here in advance through amazon in order to attend. We cannot reserve spaces without advance payment. Annie Moons will need a head count prior to the event.

We look forward to celebrating our city's founding with an elegant French brunch. Join us!

Thanks so much! I had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and making new ones. The food was great and the venue cozy.

That roasted red pepper dip was really good. Anybody got that recipe?

Annie moons did a GREAT job with the brunch. That strawberry crepe thing should be illegal. Really nice to see some folks I had met previously and meet a couple of new folks.

We are excited to try out some new foods! Our son has multiple food allergies and we are looking for some inspiration. My husband and I will be bringing our two children along.

Just returned from Annie Moons where we finalized the menu and I was given samples to taste. The Annie Moons chef, Eric, is a genius and we are in for a taste treat like no other. I will elaborate in separate posts.

Just found out Annie Moon's is owned by a colleague of mine! Excited to support his business and hang with other Vegans.

So glad you can make it, Juliana. I'll mark RJ down. My petsitter is bringing her son, so there will be at least two children at the brunch.

Hi Julia! I am so excited for this meetup! I will be bringing my non-vegan boyfriend and his non-vegan six year old son (I only RVSP'ed +1, per the instructions, since RJ is well under 12). The fact that my boyfriend is as excited as I about this vegan menu makes it all the sweeter! See you in a little over a week!!

There will be lots of STL250 events taking place the weekend of our event, so feel free to wear your best French attire to the brunch.

    Melissa,
I do want to make it over to St. Charles and am thinking about the Bike Stop Cafe for June, because we'll want warm, dry weather to best enjoy the patio dining.

Melissa - I apologize for overlooking this in the first place! I've contacted Annie Moons and as soon as we work out a children's rate will post it here. I've also inquired with the First Unitarian Church for the children's price of the Unfish Fry.

  • Melissa

Hi Julia, usual question... Is this an event I can bring my son to and is there a reduced price for children? The food sounds fabulous! Are we still considering a meetup at Bike Stop Cafe in St Charles? They have a nice patio not too far from the river and we could even go for a walk after dinner when the weather gets warmer (it will, right?)
