Vegan Picnic Potluck

  • October 23, 2010 · 3:00 PM

The theme for the next Totally Vegan Potluck is PICNIC! It will be Saturday, October 23 at 3 pm. The plan is to meet up at The Fly -- http://www.yelp.com/b... -- for a true picnic. But if the weather's nasty we'll have a faux picnic at Rachel's place -- 4838 Magazine, Apt. C. We'll still sit on blankets and pretend to have a picnic ... in part because the word is Rachel's chairs aren't plentiful. Hope you can make it! Please share with others who might be interested.

Such nice people! Such great food. Deviled "eggs", spring rolls, cupcakes, interesting salad with okra and almonds, spinach dip... I love these potlucks. Everyone is so creative and friendly.

Having it in the park was a great idea.

The Humane Society will also be hosting a fun, low-key inaugural Oak Street Pelican Block Party on this day, from noon to 5 pm. 12 different stores on Oak Street will be collecting funds for the Humane Society. There will also be a mega dog hair-cutting station with 5 area groomers on the corner of Dante and Oak. Pelican sweep stakes cards will be passed out and winners will receive great prizes. The drawing will be held throughout the day. Oak and Jacques-Moi's will offer specials.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
