How did you become a vegetarian? Would you like to host a meetup gathering at your home? Would you like to help plan our annual New Orleans Veggie Fest?

I first became interested in healthy dieting in college but still thought I needed protein from animal foods. I got a job at Whole Foods in Baton Rouge and used my discount to get healthier food and began experimenting with soy based alternatives for dairy and chicken patties. Eventually I decided to try out a pescetarian diet but it only lasted for three months. I moved back home towards the end of my college career and started eating the foods I used to eat and my health slowly started to decline. Eventually, I stumbled upon a video by Freelee "the banana girl" on youtube about the vegan lifestyle and then watched the best speech you will ever hear by Gary Yourofsky, the Earthlings documentary and Forks Over Knives. It seemed like a logical and compassionate path to take for my health and benefit of animals and planet Earth. I've been vegan for about two years and eat mostly raw now. I've never felt better and certainly don't plan on returning to the SAD (standard american diet).

Another conscious being on the journey of life! I enjoy yoga, meditation, vegan cooked and raw food but most of all connecting with other beautiful souls along the way.
