Our veggie society is close to registering its 500th member!!! Some of you joined our veggie society to learn more about eating a healthy, animal-free diet; others did it for social reasons; and some, hopefully, joined to reduce the suffering of farm animals, which is the primary reason we started this group. Our group is very active on a daily basis, helping a wide-variety of animals in need. Besides promoting a meat- and dairy-free lifestyle, we also operate a 4-acre, no-kill animal sanctuary in Tylertown, Mississippi, and we just opened a modest office in Belle Chasse (20 minutes from downtown New Orleans) that will function as our "bureau of animal cruelty investigations."
Our group runs a dynamic animal cruelty investigation department, and we hope to expand our reach with new trained-in volunteers. We offer two levels of volunteer opportunities in this field. You may wish to become one of our field investigators who go out and investigate complaints first-hand or one of our case managers who review complaints from their home or office.
To find out more about these opportunities, please join us this Sunday, September 25th, from 7-8:45 pm at Rotolo's Pizzeria, 2125 Veterans Memorial Blvd, in Metairie. To register, please contact me at [address removed]. For additional information, please call me at[masked]-4432. Veggie and vegan options are available.
