I don’t mean to elaborate on this subject but my little granddaughter ask me if god didn’t want us to eat cheese and drink milk than why did he create cows now science has made it possible for people who suffer from lactose intolerance able to drink milk can you image what this will do to the dairy industry not to mention the cows…..

I agree it's not the thing to do but it's like the argument for harm reduction in the substance abuse world.  I can't control what others put in their mouth. I can try to help reduce the damage caused.  I can give info if they are willing to take it.  That's it.

I disagree, if we avoided dairy products then the harm in this case would not exist and we could concentrate our efforts elsewhere….

Baby steps are good. If you can get people to switch from factory farmed dairy to something more humane, it's a step. I would urge you to visit any farm before you promote them. There are plenty of farms that call themselves organic and are awfully inhumane (google for recent lawsuits regarding this).

Not to worry.  I agree.  Dairy is ridiculous but that wasn't the point.  Harm reduction is the point.

I can think of a plethora of things that would be worse for people to do besides eating organic pasture raised cheese.

Hi all.  I was hoping someone may have some info for me about local dairy providers.  While I'm vegan, I'm trying to put together some info for those who are interested in ethical eating but still want to consume dairy.  Do you know dairy providers?  I have been in touch with the Rocking Dairy already and know about Ryals.  I'm curious about Smiths Dairy and who they get milk from, what the standards are, etc.

Any direction would be helpful.  Also any info about eggs would be helpful as well.

Thanks,

Kathleen
