We have an exciting update to give you....we will have a local sought after Cocktail Mixologist doing Herbal cocktail elixirs!!! Sharon Floyd of will be offering up some exciting cocktails with botanicals sure to enliven your taste is a bit about Bartanica:

Bartanica is the mingling of the modern bar and healing knowledge. True healing knowledge originates in botany, the study of botanicals, and medicine.
Herbs and spices have long been additives to spirits as well as appreciated for their various rejuvenating effects.   It was not long ago that those working behind the bar dispensed not only drinks that tasted good, but also those with healing tonic properties.
The modern bar uses an array of botanicals long known to have therapeutic properties, but whose healthful benefits are seldom understood and rarely requested. Bartanica’s goal is to increase general knowledge and interest in herbs using the observations of Ayurveda as a guide.
Ayurveda is the predominant medical system in India. It is a holistic approach to medicine that focuses on observation and nutrition. All aspects of the diet have implications for health, including cocktails.
Sharon Floyd created Bartanica to bring an herbal reference into the modern bar. With a focus on the healing arts, she hopes to unite the fascinating and diverse worlds of plants and spirits. She developed the CraftLabworkshops in order to share her knowledge and philosophy.
In 2010, Sharon was recognized by Beverage Network as one of the year’s Top Ten Mixologists to Watch. She also participated in the Cocktail Apprentice Program at Tales of the Cocktail. It was through this apprenticeship that she became eligible for and was awarded a scholarship to fund Bartanica.  The creation of this site was made possible by the generosity of Tales of the Cocktail and the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society.
You can sample Sharon’s award-winning mixology from the cocktail menu at Iris, a charming boutique bar in the Bienville House Hotel.

Menu coming soon so stay tuned!!
