Dear Friends and Fellow Animal Advocates,
There is a reason why Louisiana is synonymous with corruption. We have earned that distinction!!! Here is yet another sad example. For the past year, a couple has tried to get the local authorities to enforce the parish noise abatement ordinances and animal anti-cruelty laws in LaFourche Parish. Members of our LaFourche Parish Chapter have also been trying to get relief for these animals, and our efforts have been thwarted by Sheriff Craig Webre. The respondent, a former sheriff's deputy, owns more than 50 Brittany Spaniels and breeds and sells the litters. Here is WVUE's 8 minute expose on the story which aired last night.
In response, we are asking our members and supporters to call the sheriff's office. Politely say that you are calling about last night's story about the dogs and would like to leave a message for the sheriff. You may wish to say, "We are calling to voice our complaint against the sheriff's inaction on this matter. The dogs need shelter, proper care or to be removed. thank you." You don't have to leave your name or number. Remember, change happens only when we demand it. Please make this one phone call and share this information with your family and friends and on your social networking sites. Please direct your calls to
