Volunteer at the Krewe of Barkus and raise funds for the Humane Society of Louisiana at the same time! details below! Also, please continue to vote for our group every day through February 28th!
Going to the Krewe of Barkus parade this weekend? Did you know you can volunteer and help the Humane Society of Louisiana raise needed funds? The Barkus parade is made possible through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who set up the park, staff booths and act as Krewe Marshalls in the parade. Local rescue groups and animal protection charities are awarded proceeds from the parade, based on the number of volunteers from their organization who help out on parade day.
Want to help the Humane Society of Louisiana by volunteering? Work a shift and let Barkus know you're there representing our charity.
Shifts available: 8am-12noon setup & check-in; 10-2pm booth manning; 1pm-5pm booth manning and krewe marshalls. If you can volunteer, please RSVP and let us know what shift you can work, and we'll send you more details. Barkus asks that Volunteers do not bring their dogs while working the event. They are firm believers that if your pet is with you, even if leashed and well-behaved, they deserve your full attention. If you volunteer for Barkus, they would like to have your full attention during your shift period.
A second way to support the Humane Society of Louisiana is by voting every day for our group during Gulf Coast Bank's Community Rewards contest!
Help us make it to the top ten and earn a part of the $50,000 reward. Cast your vote daily from now through February 28th at http://www.gulfbank.com/CommunityRewards.asp!
