I read this on Our Hen House today. Does anyone here have connections at Colorado College or other local colleges? It would be great to get him to Colorado Springs!
http://www.ourhenhous... JAMES MCWILLIAMS WANTS TO TALK TO YOUR CLASSMATES ABOUT “VEGANISM FOR OMNIVORES” By Jasmin Singer — February 18, 2013 James McWilliams You know him. You love him. You wish you lived in his brain. Historian, professor, prolific writer, and relentless do-gooder James E. McWilliams — who is not only an OHH advisory board member, but has joined us both on our podcast and for an exclusive live lecture here in NYC — has recently announced that he is going on a speaking tour in the next academic year (September 2013-September 2014), hoping to visit a whopping 40-50 colleges and universities. The tour is fully funded (yowsa!) and the topic at hand will be “Veganism for Omnivores.” James is seeking sponsors to secure spaces and times for him to talk. Now there’s an opportunity worthy of sharing far and wide. Those interested in taking advantage of this one of a kind opportunity should email James at eatingplantsmcwilliams [at] gmail [dot] com. And then brace yourselves: You will rarely hear someone as articulate on animal issues as James. Be prepared to have a revelation or two (thousand). |

WOW! That would be great! I already hear Colorado College is pretty veg friendly with vegan options at some of its restaurants.

James McWilliams will be speaking at VegFest Colorado this coming July! This is great news! He's such a leader and great thinker on the ethics of veganism! His coverage on the oxen at Green Mountain College was spot-on and I think really helped people engage in conversations about "humane meat." |
