Veggie Holiday Party and Really Tacky Gift Exchange at Teaism in Old Town!

  • December 1, 2012 · 6:00 PM

Join your fellow vegetarians for our first official holiday party!

Teaism has set aside a space for our group. We will be able to order from the regular menu and pay at the counter. Their website has a chart with dietary information https://teaism.com/Restaurant/OldTown.html

Presents

The evening will include a really tacky gift exchange. If you would like to participate you can bring a wrapped gift that just happens to be tacky - it can be homemade, it can be a regift, or it can be really awesome. We'll make the exchange in to a game. Details TBD.

Trivia

We'll also have a veggie holiday trivia competition. Ex. What year was the first tofurky introduced?

Festive Attire
Festive Attire is usually seen around the holidays, with the mood of the party being Informal or Semi-Formal. For her, it means to choose looks with a bit of sparkle or holiday bent (i.e. a beaded sweater with black pants, a red silk blouse with a black skirt).

Alternative Attire: Ugly Holiday Sweaters or Character Costumes

If you have a camera please bring it since I can't find mine!

Kim - We'd love to host you guys at our Penn Quarter location - at the corner of 8th and D NW. This location has 2 areas in the lower level dining room - one works for up to 25 and the other works for up to 50. I'm afraid that the Dupont Circle location is just too small and the Lafayette Park location is only open monday to friday until 5:30pm. Let me know -[masked]-0256. Call me or Tracey. And again - a big thank you for booking the holiday party at Old Town - we really appreciate the business.

We got a phone call from Linda at Teaism. They are happy to book veg events at their location in Penn Qtr. (8th & D., N.W., D.C.) and their new location in Old Town Alexandria (St. Asaph St. at Wythe). The number to call for booking is 202.464.0256. Ask for Linda or Tracy. She is enthusiastic about developing more veg options.

VSDC is the Vegetarian Society of DC, which hosts the Vegan Meetup group. I know a lot of us belong to both groups.

If anyone needs ideas for the gift exchange check out the sites below. Please make sure the gift isn't offensive, is vegan friendly, and funny/tacky/awesome. Everyone should aim to have the funniest gift! More details to come...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
