Sunday Lunch at Sparkroot Cafe

With Farm Day getting rescheduled, I suggest we still do something on the 28th and go to Sparkroot Cafe for lunch (their menu is 100% vegetarian & vegan) and some afternoon beverages. I have reserved the upstairs which fits 18 people nicely with an eclectic mix of seating and coffee tables. Please be committed to your RSVP and change it if something comes up as there may be a wait list. I'm limiting this to +1 guest for the time being.

Sparkroot Cafe is a newer addition to the Congress area, offering unique spaces to leisure and enjoy organic fair trade coffee, tea, craft beer, wine, and vegetarian food.

The fare on the menu is all vegetarian with lots of great vegan items and options!

The following items are already vegan and can be ordered as is without specifying vegan:

Quinoa Kale Salad
House Sprouted Mung-bean Salad
Roasted Beat Salad
Bruchetta Artichoke
Artichoke Hummus Plate
Sesame Kale Chips
Vegan Cheddar Spinach Tomato Sandwich
Artichoke Hummus Cucumber Spinach Tomato Sandwich

There's an array of "artisanal pressed sandwiches on ciabatta" which can be made vegan by substituting the cow cheese for cheddar Daiya cheese (which is an amazing vegan cheese taking the dairy-free world by storm). The ciabatta bread is vegan and they offer a gluten-free bread but it's not vegan (eggs) however the salads are great gluten-free options! There's a rotating selection of desserts, and I'm told they will have their usual vegan truffles available.

Come join us down town for some good food and beverages at this vegetarian owned cafe and maybe stroll around afterwards, or head up to 4th avenue and visit some shops and make an afternoon of it.

You will need to park a short walk away, Sparkroot is on the NW side of Congress and 5th street It's just West of and across the street from hotel congress and Rialto Theatre. There's some ongoing construction to navigate. Parking tips to come!

Sorry I forgot about Parking tips and I'm about to head out so this wont be as detailed as I'd hoped, but you'll find a spot and dont worry about being late. On weekends the meters aren't monitored so you can park at a meter. Also try Maynards parking lot just north and across the street of hotel/club congress.

Dear Friends! Will not be able to make our Sunday lunch and I want to turn my spot over so someone else can enjoy it. Expect to make the next one! Cheers!

FYI to all the wait-listees, be ready to get in on this one as there's always a few RSVP changes. Please people who are going: RSVP change ASAP if it looks like you can't make it.

Also I might setup the same meetup again at Sparkroot the following Sunday (the 4th) if it turns out we have a sizable group that don't get to go this Sunday - as this is turning out quite popular and I just hate to see people who don't get to go. I know a couple of you would probably go twice too :)

Oh ok good to know... I think if it was at 1:00 we might have enough of a buffer.

thanks for the heads-up on the vegan items! I was looking and my eyes boggled at all the cheese, and didn't focus on the actual vegan stuff.
