For the Animals Sanctuary Work Party!

It's time to go to work for the animals in a day of service at the For the Animals Sanctuary in Blairstown, NJ!  This is the little sanctuary that could - and does.  The tireless women that run For the Animals and the animals themselves could use a hand or two (or eleventy) this afternoon.

The women who founded and care for the animals at the sanctuary write:

"The animals need your help. We are going to do a spring clean up at the sanctuary. The winter has left the ground a mucky mess and we need your muscles to help clean it up. The animals will love you for making their living space warm and dry.

Lets make this a Vegan potluck event. Bring a Vegan dish or drinks to share.

Please wear appropriate clothing and bring boots and work gloves.

And the Animals enjoy fruits and veggies in case you want to bring a little something for them too. :)

Also, feel free to bring along your dinner veggie scraps for the pigs ♥.

*Please note this is an adults only event. Also, all potluck dishes must be Vegan (i.e. no dairy, eggs, meat of any kind, or honey)."

We've got a 10am ZipCar reservation one stop from Manhattan on the 7 train (Vernon/Jackson).  The ongoing weekend work on the 7 will be completed next weekend so this will not interfere with anyone taking the 7 from Manhattan.  I'll give directions to those that confirm their rsvps.  The 10am departure is so that we can be sure to be at the sanctuary on time and ready to work at the start of the event.  There is room in the car for 5 total.  Please feel free to waitlist yourself in case there are cancellations.  Hey, life happens, right?

This day should be fantastic.  We've got service and teamwork covered.  We'll also have wonderful vegan food to share with the other participants.  If you've had the pleasure of meeting Theresa, Claudia and Debbie, then you know the conversation with be warm and lively.  They're truly ambassadors for the animals.

Return time to NYC will be flexible depending upon how the conversation flows.  I'll do my best to get us back by 8pm at the latest.  Happy to drop anyone off in Midtown on the return.
