June LGBT Pride Potluck in Central Park!

  • Jun 26, 2010 · 1:00 PM
  • Central Park--btw. Diana Ross playground & Delacorte Theater

Hi VegOutters!

We traditionally move our June potluck to the Saturday before Pride Day and take it outdoors. Please join us for a fun-filled afternoon in the park, with yummy vegan picnic food and your VegOut friends!

We ask everyone to bring a vegan dish to share (no meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy or honey), as well as something to sit on. No RSVP is necessary, but it encourages others to attend. And if you know what you're bringing, please note it in your RSVP so we can avoid having multiples of the same dish. (Potluck fee is $5 if you bring a dish, $12 without.)

As you know our potlucks have gone green. No need to bring plates, utensils or cups. We'll be using our vibrant green Preserve tableware.

Please note: If the weather isn't picnic-suitable, we'll meet for lunch at 1pm at Village Natural instead. Check this page for details a couple of hours before the event. Village Natural is located at 46 Greenwich Ave. bet. 6th & 7th Aves.,[masked]-0968.

Potlucks at the LGBT Center at 208 West 13th Street will resume on the regular 3rd Sunday at 3pm schedule in July.

Don't forget your frisbee!

Yours in VegOut/VegProud Love,

Jim

So fabulous! It's hard to beat stuffing your face on hot day in the park with a great group friends. I'm happy I scored that watermelon, Danielle. It was delicious! I chilled it, cut it in wedges, took it to the Pride Parade and shared the love.

What we didn't have: anything removed or extracted from an animal. What we did have: delicious and nutrient dense food that expressed every natural color spanning the spectrum of the LGBT rainbow. That being said, beige stole the show in the guise of an awesome potato salad that had us all at first taste. Oh, and no worries re every picnic's mascot - the cutest organic seedless watermelon found a home. :)

Sorry that I didn't RSVP. This was a great way to spend the afternoon. Thanks to the organizers for keeping this going!
