Have you ever worked in an office? Have you had such heinous things screamed at you like "Gladys! Coffee! Light! Sweet and Low!" or simply been told that there is a reason that YOU sit on that side of the desk?
Don't you just want to take a chainsaw to your desk? I know I do and I don't even have a desk! (Oh, wait a minute . . . I share a desk with six other people.)
Play description from the Fringe: Join this cult of murderous Slim-Fast drinking, high-heel wearing, big-haired secretaries who work the desks of the Cooney Lumber Mill in Big Bone, Oregon. It's just like your office, only with chainsaws.
This production of The Secretaries is being staged by TOSOS Theater Company. In 1974 Off-Off Broadway veteran Doric Wilson, cabaret star Billy Blackwell and director Peter dell Valle, started the first professional gay theatre company in NYC. It was called The Other Side of Silence; TOSOS for short. Today, Mark Finley, TOSOS' Artistic Director, is at the helm and is directing this production of The Secretaries, by The Five Lesbian Brothers. You can learn more about TOSOS' production of The Secretaries here. Mark will speak with us after the performance.
The Fringe is the largest multi-arts festival in North America. You can learn more about the festival here.
You can purchase tickets here. They are priced at $15.00.
We can meet at S'Nice before the show and be casual about it since S'Nice doesn't take reservations. I'll be there at 5:30pm and will hang out until 6:45pm and head over to the show. Feel free to come by any time. I'll be wearing a VEGAN tee shirt. We can always pull up another chair and make room.
