Friends of Animals is the AR organization of my choice when it comes to staying on message - never any wavering between welfare and abolitionism with this group. FoA is walking the walk consistently. They're having the easiest fundraiser imaginable. We eat out and the restaurant donates 15% of our check to Friends of Animals. How cool is that? It's high time we've done a dining around VegOutting in and of itself. Win win!

(get acquainted with them)
Edita Birnkrant, their New York Director, works tirelessly lobbying on the city and state government levels, advocating for the end of horse drawn carriages in NYC, the end of rounding up geese for purposes of extermination, bringing a lawsuit against the Port Authority of NY/NJ for assassinating snowy owls at JFK airport, stopping the abuse of alligators at the NY Boat Show, and even confronting Leonardo DiCaprio at the premier of The Wolf of Wall Street for his exploitation of chimpanzees. That's just the past few weeks for FoA's Edita! She's the face of NYC animal advocacy.
My pal, Lee Hall, was until recently their voice of all things legal. She's written the animal rights philosophy book of our time for me, On Their Own Terms - Bringing Animal Rights Philosophy Down to Earth.
