Saturday, December 22, we'll still be trying to maintain our balance on that holiday slip 'n slide as we head to the year 2013. To help us maintain equilibrium, Tom Steffen hosts a free monthly LGBT comedy night at the Creek & the Cave just over the East River in Long Island City. The Creek is showcasing some of the best LGBT comedians and queer-friendly comics around with interesting takes on some of our favorite topics.
The Creek & the Cave has two performance spaces and a mexican restaurant. The restaurant is vegan friendly and you can easily put together a meal of guacamole, burritos, enchiladas, etc. The Creek doesn't indicate this on their menu but they've got Daiya and vegan sour cream. Yum! Budget $20 if you're eating a lot. A terrific draft pint runs about $5. Hey, the show's free!
Our plan: We'll meet at 7:30 in the upstairs theater and claim our tables/chairs. We can order food, grab a cold somethin' from the bar and meet/greet until the antics begin.
All things Creek & the Cave can be found here:
The Creek is located at the first stop in Queens on the 7 train (Vernon/Jackson) and the first stop in Queens on the G train (21st/Van Alst). It is one and a half blocks from either subway stop. See the Directions tab on their website.
