I had the good fortune recently to have dinner with Victoria Moran. She is the most articulate person I have met on the subject of veganism and living a life of true integrity. Her book, The Love-Powered Diet, invites the reader to make connections between self-work and and the impact that work has on the world at large. Eating vegan is a way to get traction on issues of the self and all the animal and environmental concerns confronting us today. What seems intractable becomes doable.
Victoria's words are what prompted me to join VegOut in the first place.
Victoria is providing answers in a 60 minute teleclass where you can either dial-in or stream on the web for free. Please read the description below and sign up for this event. All of the information is here
This is from Victoria's newsletter:
The idea of "going veg," or even moving in that direction, can seem like a radical proposition unless something happens: serious cardiovascular disease, perhaps, or an almost spiritual experience in which you start to look at the animals we eat in a different way. In this class, Victoria Moran -- life coach, holistic health counselor, and Oprah-featured author of books including Creating a Charmed Life, Lit from Within, and The Love-Powered Diet -- will discuss how you can head deliciously and healthfully towards a plant-based lifestyle. You can expect to lose weight (Victoria lost 65 pounds and has kept them off over 25 years), feel more alive, and age more slowly than you ever thought possible. In addition, you just might find your heart opening, your spirit lifting, and a glow from within that, once you have it, you'd never trade.
My calendar is marked for next Tuesday at 3pm. Please join me.
