Guest Speaker Kathy Stevens and vegan potluck!

Please join us for a vegan potluck and special guest speaker!

Kathy Stevens founded Catskill Animal Sanctuary, a 110-acre haven for farmed animals and center to empower individuals to make compassionate choices, in upstate New York. CAS has a vegan cooking program, a children's camp, and will be piloting an adult camp this year.

Kathy has authored two books on her work, has a Huffington Post blog, and speaks around the country at national conferences, colleges, community organizations, and more!

Doors will open for the event at 5 pm, Sunday February 16th.  Potluck (vegan dishes only - no milk, egg, or honey products) will begin at 5:30.  The talk will begin at 6:30. This talk will be especially great for all vegetarians wondering about transitioning to a vegan diet.

Please bring your own dishes, serving utensils, and foldable chairs, as we do not have enough chairs for 30 people!

We hope you can join us!

The food and company were terrific, and Kathy is an inspiration. It was so helpful to hear ways to "help" people move to plant diets--great ideas from Kathy and members of the group. Many thanks to Don, Liz, and Alessandra for hosting!

It was a blessing to meet other people who also love animals and want to help them. Kathy is so very fortunate to 'have it all together', with enormous fundings and support. She deserves every bit of it!! If any of you are feeling a heart felt desire to directly help feed and care for our precious cows, Please visit our website and donate whatever you can. We, as you probably heard, have no funding. We rely solely on our own money and on good people who put their Love Into Action by helping us buy hay and continue to rent the pasture. You help save a life if you do, literally. Thank you and all blessings to you. http://sacred-cows-sa...

A wonderful and inspirational evening with great food and sharing. The miraculous way that Kathy's vision of acquiring land to save the farm animals came about through intention and manifestation by a loving gift from a generous supportive donor who crossed her path was my favorite piece. As we feed our visions of a plant based diet and reverence and protection of the animals through making positive choices and actions in our own lives we then through touching the lives of others on the planet will awaken humanity to compassion and conscious awareness of the sanctity of life. Kathy brought this message home beautifully. Thank you.

HI Helene, Great question! I've talked with Kathy about it but am presently drawing a blank! I know she will be telling stories of animals, her work and talking a bit about the egg and dairy industries.

Greetings and Blessings! Both the 16th and 22nd are mentioned as dates for this event with Kathy Stevens. Which date would be the one she speaks at? Thanks so much. We are going to try to make it! And please keep you ears open for someone who might have a nice pastured place to bring our own "Sacred Cows Sanctuary" in Georgia down here so we can have a community sanctuary here too! Thank you so much! Susan

Sunday the 16th! Sorry. You might want to check out Sarasota Defense of Animals to learn about a local sanctuary.
