I now realize I never wanted meat and only liked the flavours added to it, such as BBQ sauce and salt. Five or so years ago I investigated vegetarianism and most of the reasons not to be had been debunked. (Needing to combine "inferior vegetable protein", etc.) And the rise in health-food consciousness helped in finding appropriate supplements such as flax oil, etc. As with meat, I find the flavours of animal products that I enjoy are easily available elsewhere (though not always in a similar format) and it hasn't been hard to adjust at all.
Recently moved to Vancouver, looking to make like-minded friends and find good places to eat.
None yet. Hopefully soon too many to list.
I'm a computer programmer, photographer, maker, and recently, vegan.
A nice group of people. Very welcoming of newcomers regardless of your reasons for being there.
