Looking for a quality ride with long stretches of flat and some minor inclines to make things interesting?  Then consider joining your fellow group members on the Indian Head ride starting from Smallwood State Park in southern Maryland.  Similar to past editions of the Poolsville Ramble, there will be a choice of three different distances but this time - slightly easier on the legs.

Due to the long traveling distance to the start point, carpool arrangements will be available. If interested or you have any questions, please send me a email.

Distance: 23, 37 or 41 miles
Terrain: flat - some rollers(at the very beginning)
Pace: 15 - 18 mph

- HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!
- LIABILITY WAIVER WILL NEED TO BE SIGNED BEFORE THE RIDE
- All rides are 'No Drop', for nobody will be left behind.
- ID, spare tube, bike lock/cable are recommended .
- Snacks and liquids can be purchased.
- The event will be canceled/postponed if it rains.
- Email me if you have any questions

Great ride, Gregg! I'm still trying to find the flat part of the ride. ;-)

Even with the wrong turn (guess that happens when your not paying attention to road signs) it is a great ride. Some nice climbs and untrafficed roads

I would ride to the start but don't know if I could ride back and not sure if there would be a space in a car coming back.

Gregg, I had expressed interest in the 60 mile version before, but I have some work I need to finish tonight so I'm not going to try to make the early start. I'll do the 41 mile route.

Can I get a lift with anyone? I'm near Logan Circle so would love to carpool with someone near me, but can also bike to other nearby neighborhoods. Will chip in gas money.

    • Ingo

Hi Tish, I have room for an extra bike if you are still looking for a carpool.

Dose up on allergy meds and bring anti-histamine eye drops if you are an allergy sufferer. I was just out riding and the pollen was pretty bad--and I don't even really have allergies!

So true. I just road from old town alexandria to mount Vernon and the pollen was horrible.

This is my first time, but I can't make it. Sorry. I need to come in to work for a few hours.

Unfortunately, I'm out since the car that hit me on the FreshBikes Tuesday Night Ride has put me on the disabled list and killed my trusty bike, Ruby. Have fun.

Morning Karen. Happy to hear that you're recovering. Whenever you're ready, I greatly look forward to seeing you on the next ride. FOR RUBYYYYY!!

Karen - I'm so sorry this happened but glad you're on the road to recovery. Best wishes.

How much different/harder is the 41 mile ride from the 37 mile ride?

    May 21

    • Neelam

      Hi Gregg,
Thanks, I assume the rides are no drop as well?

      May 21

    • Gregg

      Yup

I'm interested in adding miles. Maybe combining the 41 and 23 mile routes?

    1 · May 16

    • Gregg

Way ahead of you Joanne. There's an unofficial option "D" which few us have rode in the past which combined the 41+23 or a slightly hillier "super metric loop". I'll post the details when find that cue sheet.

I'm in on the 41 also

I'm with Sandra; the 41 mike option sounds best to me.

  • Sandra K.

    I'll do the 41

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
