Nokesville - 45

Join your fellow group members for the "Nokesville - 45".  To quote from the Wikipedia page: "Nokesville is the center of a farming community with cattle and dairy farms; it became a town and intermediate stop on the Orange & Alexandria Railway in 1865." .  Cycling translation: scenic historic farmlands and forests (think amber waves of grain), an exorbitant number of furry creature sightings and relatively flat roads with some slight rollers so you don't have to dreadfully anticipate ______ climb(s).  In other words you can come out, have some fun and enjoy the ride.

Starting/Ending Point: Nokesville Community Park
Total Distance: 45 miles
Terrain: Mostly flat with some brief rollers
Est Elevation: +1500ft/-1490ft
Highlights: Scenic farmlands, forests and furry/feathery creatures galore

Thank you all so much for making the inaugural Nokesville - 45 a great event. Special thanks to the impromptu ride leaders; Ted, Karen , Erin, Joe and Brooke. Really appreciate the assistance. Special welcome and congratulations to Natalie, Al, Ernesto, Paula's + one friend and any other first timer that I may have missed. Finally Danielle, please ice that knee and get your cleats looked. I expect you to complete the whole ride next time. Many, many thanks again everybody.

Gregg, I've got cue sheets and the attendance list printed out, as of Friday afternoon.

All, I'll be bringing a laptop and cables to be able to download the route into Garmin devices, if you are interested.

    Gregg
If you get me something on the route, I'll put it up on RideWithGPS
(really want to get my Garmin programmed prior to leaving tomorrow morning - don't want to be ginning up the route in the parking lot from the cue sheet)
