Get dressed up and come out to Eastern Market on Friday, June 13th to dance, drink, celebrate cycling, and help raise funds for the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA). Local jazz band, the U Street Collective, will lay down a nice groove. And with the support of cyclists like you, WABA will keep things moving.
Tickets are $45 for WABA members and $55 for non-members and include dancing to a live band, two drinks, a light buffet, and desserts. Additional event details and tickets are here: http://www.waba.org/events/bikefest.php. Please note that this is not a traditional meetup event with an organized ride. Joanne, one of the VeloDCity organizers, is on the BikeFest Host Committee and will be there to welcome you.
Getting to the meetup: Many guests will arrive by bike or take the metro to Eastern Market. A bike valet is available.
What to wear: It's a party! Have fun and break out something nice, but leave the ball gown and tux in the back of the closet.
About WABA: WABA is a regional cycling advocacy and education association that promotes better cycling infrastructure as part of a fully integrated transportation system. Its goal is to encourage cycling for fun, fitness, and affordable transportation by making your community a place where you can ride anywhere you want to go -- safely.
