Hains Point "Loop d' Loop" Ride

  • January 1, 2013 · 10:00 AM
  • Parking Lot ?C

Start the new year on the right foot or pedal. Practice your riding at one of the area's best criterium 'track' in the area: Hain's Point. A single lap around this famous landmark peninsula is approximately 3.25 miles so multiply that times however many laps you choose to do and you have your total distance.  The group will meet at the parking lot C, a few yards south of the main picnic area.  Click here to view a map of the area. Upon completion we can have an optional lunch at the Capital Grill on the grounds of the golf course. They serve hamburgers, hotdogs, fish sandwiches, etc.

Highlights: Pancake flat course, head winds on one side, tail winds on the other and numerous restrooms.

- HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION.
- All rides are 'No Drop', for nobody will be left behind.
- ID, spare tube, bike lock/cable is highly recommended.
- Snacks and liquids can be purchased.
- Rain or Shine
- Email me if you have any questions.

Got in 64 miles worth of laps. Didn't get started till 10:30am. Saw Gregg and Keith. Keith was in the same group as me, but lost track of him at some point. Good to see you all. Sorry i was late. Last 12 miles of my ride I was bonking. Didn't bring enough calories.

HP was great! Very nice. First time back in prob 17 years or more. Rode with the 'fast' group for most of the time until about noon time. Not sure who was who and who was there. I was the one with the orange/white/black Velocity Co-op jersey.

Very un Hains Point-like today, no wind. Chilly, but fast. Enjoyed catching up with my old Artemis team mates.

If you need to familiarize yourself with the course, check out this Saturday's (December 23) ride. Post 28 on the tread even has a course map and cue sheet. ;)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
