Greetings Good Folks,

After long consideration and with many apologies: the Purcellville Run, scheduled to occur on Saturday, July 23, 2011 7:00 AM has been cancelled due to the extreme heat forecast. Simply put: it's going to be too hot out there. The shorter Great Falls Ride will be scheduled in it's place with an option to ride additional mileage to Ashburn, VA for those who really need it. The start time will will remain the same earlier time of 7am however plan to arrive at the start point no later than 6:40 and ready to ride at 7am exactly. For those of you who already live in the area, you can meet the group at Clarks Crossing Road/WOD Trail. Just please indicate your plan to do so in the RSVP comment field. The group should arrive between 7:20am - 7:25am.

- The regular Great Falls route is an estimated 35 miles long which will take place on the open roads of Herndon/Reston area. The terrain is rolling to hilly including the 'Spiderman climb' which involves a brief 20% grade hill.

- The Ashburn option including the Great Falls route will approximately be 52 total miles. This portion of the ride will take place on the flat WOD Trail.

- The ride will involve an approximate 4.5 hours of riding with an estimated finish time 11:30am.

- Due to the earlier start time, there will be no extended lunch session however there will be opportunities get slurpees at the many 7-Elevens on the route.

- The route can be viewed here http://www.gmap-pedom...

Many apologies again for the change in plans. If you should have any questions, comments please feel free to contact me.

Bests,
gregg
