After the ride yesterday at Cosi's, I had a brief conversation about centuries with a lot climbing and one in particular I recently discovered, that no one had heard about. Figured I'd share it here so all of you who are "in love" with climbing will be sure not to miss. It is May 19th down in Lynchburg VA, the 100 mile route boast 9000ft of elevation which includes a 13 mile ascent on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I'm intrigued, but I may be out of town that weekend. I'll have to plan things out and see.

Or if Blue Ridge is just a warm up for you….how about just under 17K feet of climb!

I did the Storming of Thunder Ridge last year and it was awesome. The views from the Blue Ridge Parkway are stunning, the ride was well organized, and the rest stops were well stocked. The descent from the Peaks of Otter was tricky and saw someone go over their handlebars. I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Signed up for the Savage Century too - rode parts of the route last year helping a buddy prepare.

Also FYI the Civil War Century (which we will have a partial preview of on a variety of my Cotoctin rides) registration opens up on April 15th. This Century is limited to only 1600 riders.
