Foxy's Fall Century Progressive Training Ride #1

Ready for your first century ride?  Or just want to keep training for a fall event?  Then this is the series for you!  Join us for our progressive training ride series designed to help you train for Foxy's Fall Century on October 19th.  Each week we add some distance and/or elevation to help you train for this beautiful ride through Solano and Napa Counties with 100 mile and 100 kilometer options available.

This week we start with a 45-mile ride in the east bay that includes Piedmont and Tunnel Roads.

Please note that you will need to register separately for Foxy's Fall Century.  Registration opens on August 1st and typically sells out quickly.

Okay, due to fire in Reno area, I am not heading up there! Will be at ride one with Velo Girls...little nervous about the elevation, but think I can handle the distance.

Riding the Napa Century on the 18th but am looking forward to attending the remaining ride series. I do hope you cover "pace lines". They have wonderful pace lines in the Foxy.

I have ridden the Foxy twice and "The Fun" is in the pace lines something we just don't have here.

Terria, pacelining is definitely fun for some folks. I love riding a wheel (or pulling) when I ride with other skilled folks. And a flat ride like Foxy's is definitely a great place to utilize your paceline skills.

Won't be able to make it

That looks like a lot of elevation. Will the pace accomodate a newbie that has climbed about 2/3 that?

Hi. Do you have an available route for this ride (e.g. Mapmyride.com)? I wanted to see the elevation. Just last week I did a variation of this route, which included a ton of hills, but it was only 30 miles. I'm participating in the Fast Freddie (Tour de France winner) charity ride on 8/17 that starts @ The Claremont Hotel, so I'm hoping I'm not so tired!

Hi Marina! I'll pass your question onto the team members who are organizing this series. Jessica is in India right now but perhaps Julie or Suzanne will have an answer for you.

Hi Marina, We will post the route prior to the ride. This ride will have about 3000 ft of climbing.
