Bike Skills 101 -- Fundamental Bike Handling Skills sponsored by BicycleLawyer.com

This 4-hour co-ed clinic is the foundation of everything else you’ll learn on the bike. This is the clinic where we teach the old dogs new tricks and the newbies the fundamentals. You’ll learn about balance and weight distribution and how that affects your ability to ride your bike safely and confidently. We’ll learn skills like riding with no hands, emergency stops, and how to look behind you while holding your line, how to steer, and counter-steer. After just four hours, we guarantee you’ll be a better bike handler and have much more fun on the bike.  PLEASE NOTE:  Bike Skills 101 is the pre-requisite for all other Bike Skills road clinic modules.

This is an outside, on-the-bike clinic.  You will need to provide your own bike, helmet, and cycling clothes.

Please note, this clinic is not part of the regular Velo Girls club activities.  There is a registration fee for this clinic.  We are not accepting payment via meetup.  We have posted this event on Meetup for informational purposes only.  You may RSVP on the meetup, but only those who have registered online @ http://savvybike.eventbrite.com will receive detailed confirmation information.

Good morning everybody! Just a reminder that you can save $20 on registration for Bike Skills 101 (fundamental bike handling skills) and Bike Skills 201 (climbing + descending skills) on September 29th if you register by this Saturday, September 14th.

Both clinics are about half full at this point and I anticipate they'll sell out, so register early (and save some $$$).

Hi Kelly! Yes, as long as spots are still available, registration is live. Once it sells out registration changes to a wait list.

Lorri, I'm going to checking out some bike shops do you have any suggestions? I live in Millbrae but am willing to go anywhere you might recommend. Thanks!

Hi Susan! Our sponsor bike shop is Mike's Bikes. The closest to you would either be SF or Palo Alto.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
