Melo Velo beginners' road ride

This is a ride for beginners. All female riders are welcome for socializing and support, but this is an easy, beginner, getting-used-to-road-biking ride.  Meet at Woodside Town Hall in Woodside.  We'll ride north on Canada Road and return -- 15 miles, rolling terrain.

Like all our rides, this ride is led by volunteers.  While this is a beginner level ride, participants should be comfortable with their bike (basic shifting and braking) and should be able to maintain a 10mph pace.  While our ride leaders strive to support all riders and some one-on-one is available, depending on the size of the group, it may be impossible for the ride leader to ride with each rider.

I just bought a used bike and had it fitted, but do not have a helmet yet. Does the ride require a helmet?

Hi Cici! Sorry for the delayed response (I was working at Sea Otter Classic all weekend ). A helmet is required for all Velo Girls rides (and it good practice for all non-club rides, too).

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
