Join us on a Winter Adventure -- mountain bike style! This intermediate level ride is great for keeping up your fitness during the 'off-season' with a good amount of climbing. Trails are mostly fireroad -- but fast and fun with plenty of twists and turns through the eucalyptus trees.
The Lake Chabot area trail system (including trails in Anthony Chabot Regional Park and Redwood Regional Park) offers many miles of trails that are great even after a rainy week. Plan for about 3+ hours of riding; 20+ miles -- with options to extend or shorten the ride as the group decides. This is an 'adventure' style ride, where we're out to explore new trails and get in some longer miles.
Trails we'd like to ride include: the Lake Chabot bike loop (counter-clockwise); McDonald Trail heading towards Redwood Regional Park. (options to shorten the ride, as needed!)
Bring water, snacks, mountain bike in working condition, and of course your helmet!
**Rainy weather MIGHT cancel the ride so look for updates the week before the ride.
Please plan on meeting at 9 am -- we will roll around 9:10.
